The students from the Degrassi Community School will be back to tackle more controversial topics in the latest set of episodes on "Degrassi: Next Class" season 3.

In an exclusive sneak peek posted by E! News, Zoe Rivas (Ana Golja) and Goldi Nahir (Soma Bhatia) will learn an important driving lesson regarding the use of mobile phones while driving in the premiere episode of the upcoming season.

Based on the clip, Goldi will stumble upon the video posted online by Vijay Maraj (Dante Scott) where he was accusing Zoe of being a "self-hating gay."

Fans of the series can remember that Zoe came out to the rest of the school that she is a gay woman during the finale of "Degrassi: Next Class" season 2. But she has yet to come out to her family, particularly her mother. That is why she wants to untag herself from the video to prevent her mother from getting hold of the video.

But because of the urgency of the situation, Zoe will try to untag her name in the video while driving. This will cause her to accidentally bump into the nearby fire hydrant just after she ignited her car. This will remind them that people should not use their phones while driving to avoid any accidents.

On the other hand, executive producer Linda Schuyler confirmed in an interview with Metro News that cheerleader Lola Pacini (Amanda Arcuri) will be the fourth character in the "Degrassi" series to have an abortion.

While the producer claims that they are not intending to become an abortion advocate, they need to feature the controversial topic to demystify it. She also teased that viewers will see Lola's exact reaction when doing the procedure, and learn how she will accept her decision.

"Some girls will ... cry for days after, and some will feel strong and feel liberated and feel like it wasn't a big deal," Arcuri also told the publication. "I think it's a good way to tell a story — that people react differently. Lola's reaction is justified. It's normal. It's OK."

"Degrassi: Next Class" season 3 will be released by Netflix on Friday, Jan. 6, but the Family Channel will air the series in Canada on Monday, Jan. 9.
