Bungie is planning a different style of narrative for "Destiny 2" if a recent job posting from the game developer's website is to be based on. It seems that once the upcoming sequel is released, the online-only first-person shooter video game will see several small-scale updates that will be separate from the downloadable content (DLC) expansions.

First noticed by NeoGAF forum user Nirolak, Bungie recently put up several job listings related to creating narratives for "Destiny." While it was not specifically stated, the positions are believed to be for the upcoming sequel.

The available positions are Head of Narrative Development, Senior Narrative Producer, Narrative Director and a Live Narrative Director. Among all these, it is the job description for the Live Narrative Director that has caught the attention of most "Destiny" fans.

"You will direct the storytelling efforts for regular, small-scale Destiny releases throughout the calendar year. Our ideal candidate has a deep understanding of interactive storytelling with strong organizational and leadership skills as well as an ability to work with external partners. A proven record of prioritizing resources against creative goals in a fast-paced release environment is a must," the job description reads.

It was noted that the Live Narrative Director will have to develop a story that is in line with the overall narrative of the franchise. The small-scale projects will also have to meet the scope and schedules allotted by the production team. Furthermore, the Live Narrative Director will work closely with the Game Director and the Project Leads.

"Destiny" has been lauded for its impressive storytelling and if the job postings are any indication, then the forthcoming sequel could also be quite an impressive offering. The frequent updates could also feature a more evolving narrative compared to the original video game.

"Destiny 2" will be released sometime in 2017 but Bungie has yet to announce a specific launch date.
