Not much is known about "Destiny 2," save for the information provided by tipsters and sources. Recently, one of the leaked details about the game was confirmed.

Bungie announced on social media that "Skylanders" developer, Vicarious Visions will be helping them in putting together the "Destiny" sequel.

"Vicarious Visions" is excited to announce that we are partnering with Bungie to further expand the award-winning Destiny universe," the post read.

Interestingly, this post is still up on Twitter, but was taken down from the Facebook page of the developer. It remains to be seen what this means in terms of Bungie's plans for "Destiny 2."

Last month, a NeoGAF user by the name benny_a said that Vicarious Visions will be working on "Destiny 2" with High Moon Studios. This information was seconded by Jason Schreier of Kotaku.

This suggests that there is credibility with what the tipsters were saying about the sequel. For starters, they claimed that it will be released for the PC and that it will be a major overhaul of the game.

There will reportedly be little to no elements from the original that will be carried over to "Destiny 2" and that there will be brand new game mechanics, characters and playspaces.

The abovementioned NeoGAF user even claimed that Bungie is looking to add Raid matchmaking to the game, which they failed to fully employ in the original.

"What I heard is that the reason it was rebooted earlier this year (and is now helmed by GAF poster Luke Smith) is because the original version felt too much like an expansion," the same tipster explained.

"I'm expecting them to change everything. I don't think Bungie has decided yet what you'll be able to bring over from year 1 or what you'll get as a reward for being a long-term player. But I expect a fresh start," he went on to say.

"Destiny 2" will be released sometime next year.
