'Destiny 2' release date news: Launch still unconfirmed, expected in Fall 2017?
"Destiny" is set to receive another update in the form of the "Rise of Iron" expansion. While fans are already excited about fresh content from Bungie, some are still wondering what the game developer has to offer when it comes to the game sequel, "Destiny 2," which has already been confirmed.
Bungie didn't reveal an exact release date for the sequel but fans should look forward to 2017, presumably in Fall, the expected release period of the game. The developer has also kept mum about details of the sequel, so at this point, it's anybody's guess what "Destiny 2" will be about.
While details of the game have been scarce, Metro hopes that "Destiny 2" will have a proper storyline, one that's much better than the original game and its expansions. It is also hoped that the sequel will offer more matchmaking modes and Strikes with more players. The publication noted that somehow the current game makes players feel a bit lonely when they're outside the Crucible or other social areas.
Meanwhile, fans are currently focused on "Rise of Iron," which will be released in September. But what comes after the expansion is another concern of the players. Chris Barrett, Bungie's creative director, and Eric Osborne, head of marketing, however, confirmed during an interview with Kotaku that there will be more content for the players even after "Rise of Iron."
"Wow, people are concerned, I mean we've been out 18 months. I think people talk about Destiny like it's been here for decades. Eighteen months, this is our fourth expansion. 40+ updates to the base game. I think the content pace is pretty normal," Osborne said.
Barrett then added that the team would "want to keep more regular content for players," which will not only include DLCs but also live events.
Fans should just stay tuned for more updates about "Destiny 2."
