'Dishonored 2' release date, news & update: Bethesda releases guidelines for fixing performance issues
Bethesda Softworks recently posted a notice for fans who have reported some issues on the PC version of the latest installment to their stealth action-adventure video game "Dishonored." The video game publisher posted the information just in time for the launch of "Dishonored 2."
To get the best experience while playing the game, Bethesda advised fans that it is imperative to meet the desired specs. According to the video game publishers, gamers should play using the High settings to ensure the consistency in gameplay.
Bethesda suggested that if gamers experience performance issues, the first thing they need to do is to lower the resolution. The publisher recommended that only gamers who have high-end GPUs (GTX (GTX 1070/1080 or equivalent) should be using the 1440 p resolution. When gamers experience large frame rate fluctuations, they must make sure to check if the V-Sync is activated. If the frame rate goes under 30 fps, gamers should adjust the Adaptive Resolution, keeping it between 50 and 75 percent, the default value.
If performance issues persist, Bethesda advised players to use the Auto presets to adjust the visuals without impacting the frame rate. Once the auto presets are utilized and the issues still prevail, gamers should deactivate the TXAA Anti-Aliasing tool and lower the texture details.
The minimum requirements to play the game consists of a Windows 7, 8, or 10 (64-bit versions). Gamers should at least have the Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320. 8 GB of RAM is imperative as well as 60 GB of free HDD space. Furthermore, gamers need to download additional files from Steam to be able to play the game.
In addition, the publisher noted that players need to download the update before they can install and play the game. Hence, before they can play, they need to be online to do so.
"Dishonored 2" will be unveiled on Friday, Nov. 11, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Gamers who pre-ordered the game will get it a day earlier.
