'Dishonored 2' update news: Emily and Corvo's abilities become interchangeable in upcoming update
Players are getting the chance to finally merge Empress Emily Kaldwin's Royal Protector Corvo Attano's abilities in "Dishonored 2," thanks to an upcoming update.
For the action-adventure stealth video game's first free update, Bethesda Game Studios will add the New Game Plus, in which players can combine the powers of both heroes.
"Dishonored players have asked for it, so now New Game Plus is here for Dishonored 2," creative director Harvey Smith said.
"If you've ever wanted to make higher-powered characters, now's your chance. If you've wanted to play Emily Kaldwin with Possession or Devouring Swarm, or Corvo Attano with Domino, now you can. We've been having fun with it here at Arkane Studios, and we hope you will too," he went on to say.
The New Game Plus will be accessible once players complete "Dishonored 2." The feature will allow players to start a new game with either the heroes.
Players will be able to tap into the abilities of both Emily and Corvo to use in their second go of the game as well as the Runes and Bonecharm Traits collected from the previous games.
Thanks to the New Game Plus, players will be able to reassign these traits to either Corvo or Emily in "Dishonored 2," which means that the traits that primarily apply on Corvo can be used on Emily and vice versa.
The free update arrives to "Dishonored 2" on Monday, Dec. 19, for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was recently released as beta on the PC.
There will be another update, but it will not arrive until January next year. It includes a couple of new features. One will be Mission Select while the other will add new Custom Difficulty Settings.
Both should allow players to customize their playstyle and challenge themselves in "Dishonored 2" by having greater freedom in tweaking the difficulty.
