'Doctor Strange' release date and news: Strange confirms part in 'Infinity War'
Scott Derrickson's "Doctor Strange" is already coming out in November and four recent TV spots showcase new footage and dialogue. What's more, Benedict Cumberbatch himself has confirmed that he is making an appearance as Stephen Strange in Marvel's upcoming film, "The Avengers: Infinity War."
In a recent interview with Empire, Cumberbatch talks about some of the challenges that he had to face when it came to working on "Infinity War." He says there was a "logistical challenge" in aligning his schedule with all the other stars of the movie including Robert Downey Jr., Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Chris Hemsworth.
"To get us all together will be quite something," says Cumberbatch, "That's why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter," he adds.
"Doctor Strange" introduces the Marvel audience to its world of Mysticism in the same way that "Guardians of the Galaxy" introduced them to Marvel Cosmic. The closest that Marvel has ever gotten to magic is "Thor" but in that movie, it explains that Asgard just has incredibly advanced technology.
"Doctor Strange" is sure to open up a whole new world in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and fans can hardly wait.
To keep fans hyped for the movie, four new TV spots have been revealed. Though the plot seems clear on what Strange's origin will be, the goal of the villain Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) is still a big mystery. Some think that he is a servant of Dormammu but others speculate that he works for Shuma-Gorath.
Also, some are wondering when Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) will eventually be the nemesis of Doctor Strange like he is in the comics.
"Doctor Strange" comes to theaters on Nov. 4, 2016. Fans should stay tuned for more updates as the premiere draws closer.
