Documents purported to be from ISIS have been detailing the terror group's rules which includes guidelines on beard length, giving alms and the taking of female captives as sex slaves was recently discovered in the offices used by the militant group.

The documents and other print materials bore the logos of the Islamic State. One of the pamphlets included 32 questions and answers about the treatment of female captives. It declared that non-Muslim women can be taken as concubines. An Islamic State fighter is allowed to have two sisters as concubines but can only have sex with one.

"Pre-pubescent girls can be taken as concubines. You cannot have penetrative sex but you can still enjoy them," the pamphlet indicated. The rules also stated that a concubine cannot be shared with other men.

The militant group also forbade certain forms of entertainment. One poster listed 20 reasons why Iraqis should destroy satellite dishes.

One reason stated, "Because satellite channels show stories of love and naked women and inappropriate language."

The group also prohibited the shaving of beards. One of the pamphlets defined the beard as "hair that grows on your face and your cheeks." Other leaflets gave instructions on how to pray properly and how to give alms.

Several villagers who escaped from ISIS-controlled territories said that the punishment for those who violated the rules include public whipping or being taken to Mosul for execution.

In August, leaked ISIS documents revealed that 70 percent of the militant group's recruits only had basic knowledge of Islam. About 24 percent were considered to have "intermediate" knowledge while only 5 percent were listed as advanced students of Islam.

According to Independent, two British recruits ordered "The Koran for Dummies" and "Islam for Dummies" as preparation for joining the group. One recruiter reportedly took a group of Frenchmen bar-hopping before signing them as foot soldiers for ISIS.

Islamic scholar Tariq Ramadan noted that many of the group's top commanders do not have religious credentials but they once held senior positions under Saddam Hussein's secular government.
