2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump repeatedly declined to name his favorite Bible verse in a recent interview, despite recently claiming that the Bible was his favorite book.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg's "With All Due Respect," Trump repeatedly refused to say his favorite Bible verse, instead arguing that such a detail is "very personal."

"I wouldn't want to get into it. Because to me, that's very personal," the real estate mogul said during the recent interview.

When asked again to reveal his favorite Bible verse, Trump replied: "The Bible means a lot to me, but I don't want to get into specifics."

As The Christian Post reports, when Trump was asked a third time if he could name a favorite Bible verse, the 2016 presidential hopeful replied: "No, I don't want to do that."

Trump said during a recent campaign stop that the Bible is his favorite book, telling voters in Mobile, Alabama that he looks to the Holy Book for guidance.

"What's my favorite book? The Bible! The Bible. [...] We take the Bible all the way," the real estate mogul said.

Trump previously received criticism after saying during an event in Iowa that he doesn't ask God for forgiveness.

"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so," Trump told Moderator Frank Luntz at the recent Family Leadership Summit after being asked if he seeks God's forgiveness.

"I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't," Trump added.
