'Dragon Ball Z Revival of F' Release Date, Spoilers: English Version in US on April 11; Climactic Fight Scenes
"Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F" is scheduled to be released in Japan on April 18, the first Japanese film that will debut in 3D IMAX Digital Theaters.
But the really good news for American anime fans is that an English-dubbed version of the anime film will be released even BEFORE the Japan release date!
The English-dubbed version was made possible through the collaboration of 20th Century Fox and Toei Animation which will host the film premiere complete with English subtitles at the Egyptian Theater in Los Angeles, California, next Saturday, April 11.
Two years since the last Dragon Ball Z movie ("Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods") was released, the new movie will have stronger heroes, stronger villains, and more action-packed battles.
"Dragon Ball Z: Revival of F" will focus on Frieza's revenge against his son Goku and company. Frieza was apparently revived by Sorbet and Tagoma using the Dragon Balls. Frieza trained for months after learning that Goku and Vegeta have surpassed him in strength and power. Now, Frieza, in a new form (Golden Frieza), sets out to invade Earth to face Goku, Vegeta and their friends.
There are, however, leaked videos that reveal Goku will also undergo a transformation of his own which should increase the interest and improve the plot of the film. In fact, there are reports that Vegeta will also have a new form and Vegeta will help Goku fight Frieza.
Spoilers suggest that the climactic fight scenes will play out this way: Frieza and Goku will fight. Frieza will seem to get defeated until he transforms into Golden Frieza and starts winning in this form. Frieza beats Goku and Vegeta steps in to help after he gives Goku a senzu which rejuvenates Goku. Vegeta almost defeats Frieza but instead Frieza kills Vegeta by making Earth explode. Goku goes back in time three minutes before the Earth is destroyed with the help of Whis. He uses Kamehameha to end Frieza.
The movie will also be available as a DLC to the Dragon Ball Xenoverse in the future. No official word yet on when the DLC will be made available.
