Duggars Accused of Deleting Same-Sex Couple Kiss from Facebook
The Duggar family of the well-known reality show "19 Kids and Counting" is reportedly receiving criticism after parents Michelle and Jim Bob allegedly removed a photo of a same-sex couple kissing from their Facebook page.
Michelle and Jim Bob posted a photo of themselves kissing to their Facebook account, as well as issuing a challenge to other married couples to also post photos of themselves kissing. Although it has not been verified, the couple is now being accused of deleting a photo of a same-sex couple kissing that was posted to their Facebook page.
The couple had posted their photo after daughter Jessa and newlywed husband Ben Seewald posted a photo of themselves kissing on Instagram. The young couple recently married in Arkansas, and waited until their wedding day to share their first kiss.
"God designed marriage to be a loving, dynamic relationship between a husband and wife for a lifetime," Michelle and Jim Bob wrote on their official family Facebook page on Nov. 10. "We had fun trying to duplicate Ben and Jessa's happily married kissing picture. We challenge all married couples to take a happily married picture and post it here."
A man named John Becker is now accusing the reality show couple of removing his photo from their Facebook page. Becker claims he posted a photo on their page of himself kissing his husband, and the photo was subsequently removed and he was blocked from posting any future photos on their page.
"I posted this photo of Michael and me with the following comment: 'Happily married for nearly nine years; working hard for #MarriageEquality for all loving couples. And we will win, because #LoveIsLove! #LibertyAndJusticeForAll,'" Becker wrote on his personal Facebook page, according to Fox News. "It was getting lots of likes, but the Duggars must not have liked it very much -- they pulled it down and blocked me from posting, liking, or commenting on the page altogether. How sad that they feel so threatened by other loving marriages!"
