A mother from the Netherlands has reportedly taken her four-year-old child to Syria with her to join the Islamic State terrorist group.

Media outlets report that 24-year-old mother Hasna A. reportedly left for Syria from the Netherlands last March, and has recently shared photos of herself and her son Nourredine wearing Islamic State hats.

The mother has reportedly sent the photos to the classmates, vowing to remain living in the Islamic State property and never to leave.

According to the Dutch media outlet Telegraaf, the grandfather of the four-year-old boy has said his grandson has severe learning disabilities and cannot speak, even though it appears the young boy is being prepared to become an Islamic State fighter.

Recently, an American mother of three traveled to Iraq to join the Kurdish militia in fighting against the Islamic State.

According to The Telegraph, 25-year-old mother of three Samantha Johnston has frequently posted Instagram photos of her experience fighting with the Kurdish militia in Iraq.

"It was extremely hard. I cried on the way to the airport and almost decided not to go," Johnston told the Daily Caller of her decision to travel to the Middle East to fight against the terrorist group. "But if I did then I'd never forgive myself."

The Iraqi town of Ramadi recently fell to Islamic State forces when the terrorist group carried out multiple suicide bombings in the area and took government officials hostage. Shi'ite forces have been brought in in an attempt to regain control of the city.
