E3 2016 news: 'Pokemon Sun and Moon' revealed; new characters and game mode introduced
The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2016) continues to be one of the most anticipated events for gamers, and Nintendo fans were in on the action as they were shown the first gameplay from "Pokemon Sun and Moon" at their Nintendo Treehouse event.
While the game is still far from being final, given the fact that developers claimed that there could be a lot of changes in the game, this is very promising for fans of the franchise as the first look is very impressive.
One of the better upgrades introduced to the game is a "Battle Royale" mode. This is a four-player battle mode where each player will have to choose a Pokemon until four players complete the game.
They would then enter the ring at the same time and then the battle begins.
According to the reveal, players will take turns to attack, and they have the option to target either one of the three available opponents to attack. This is a perfect strategy game where alliances can be made and plans can unravel.
However, as stated by Engadget, one thing to consider when playing a four-person battle royale is that taking turns may result in a long idle time for players.
This may be addressed when the developers said that there could still be changes on the way.
A few Pokemon characters have also been revealed to appear at the Alola region: namely Pikipek, a Normal-and-Flying-type Woodpecker Pokemon; Yungoos, a hungry and angry Normal-type-Loitering Pokemon; and Grubbin, a Bug-type Larva Pokemon.
Stay tuned for more updates and information on "Pokemon Sun and Moon," which is set to be released on Nov. 18.
