'Elder Scrolls VI' rumors: Game could possibly be virtual reality-ready
As of now, Bethesda is currently working on the remaster of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" for the Xbox One and PS4, but fans can't help but speculate on the future of the franchise, and they guess that "The Elder Scrolls VI" may come not earlier than the year 2019. There's also a rumor going around that the game will be VR-ready when it's released.
It is said that it is quite possible for "Elder Scrolls VI" to be VR-ready, but it totally depends on how gaming technology works by the time 2019 rolls in. Sure, virtual reality technology has been a recent hit with games, but there's no telling if the hype will stay up or if the gamers will eventually go back to playing their games traditionally.
Gamingbolt reports that "Elder Scrolls VI" is not currently in development, and it won't be in development for a quite a while. This gives the developers time to plan what they want to do with the next games as there is no telling if the current gaming trends will last through the years. By the time 2019 comes, there could either be a VR standard for every game that comes out or the trend could easily fizzle over the years.
The Kinect trend has found its way to the hearts of the gaming community, but it hasn't become such a trend that Bethesda has opted not to include any Kinect functionality with the "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" remaster.
Since "The Elder Scrolls VI" is not currently in the works, the closest that players will get to it will be the remastered version of "Skyrim," which will include dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and volumetric god rays.
"The Elder Scrolls VI" is expected to arrive not earlier than 2019.
