'Elementary' Season 5 air date, spoilers news: Upcoming season to feature Gregson and Paige's wedding?
The upcoming fifth season of "Elementary" is expected to return this October, and the rumors regarding the new contents of the story and fresh faces in the series are starting to surface. Also, the new season might also feature two lovebirds taking their relationship to the next level, and possibly be engaged.
There are already hints that Gregson and Paige may start to think about their relationship more seriously. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showruner of the successful "Sherlock Holmes" modern retelling, Rob Doherty, revealed that the fans can expect Gregson (Aidan Quinn) and Paige's (Virginia Madsen) relationship will evolve as their story progresses in Season 5. Gregson, in particular, might be starting to think that they are only growing older and there is no turning back when it comes to their feelings for each other. Therefore, it is possible that the two will be engaged next season and come up with plans to settle down and start a family.
To recall in the previous season of "Elementary," Gregson was deeply hurt when he and Paige broke up. It was a very disheartening for Paige to leave Gregson, but Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) learned that the former was suffering from multiple sclerosis. In hopes that the couple can still work things out in the face of Paige's worsening condition, Joan told everything to Gregson
Meanwhile, Joan will be introducing a new character to Sherlock, which will be very helpful in solving future cases. Shinwell Johnson, which will be introduced as Joan Watson's former patient when she was still working as a surgeon, will played by "True Blood" actor Nelsan Ellis. According to Movie News Guide, Johnson will be appearing in "Elementary" Season 5 for at least three episodes. To note, Shinwell Johnson is one of the original and classic characters creater by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the "Sherlock Holmes" novel.
Aside from Shinwell, another character set to appear in the series' 100th episode is also expected to help Sherlock in uncovering the mystery behind the crimes. "The Mentalist" actor Owain Yeoman will be portraying the role of Sherlock's boarding school pal who will aid him in solving a murder case.
