Eminem new album 2016 release date: Rumored feud proven false at Drake concert; possible collab with Rihanna in the works?
Eminem fans have been waiting years for news of a new album from the award-winning rapper, and recent rumors about a possible feud with fellow rapper Drake being the cause of the album's delay has drawn the ire of many.
Reports that the multi-awarded rap artist has been working on a new album have been circulating for some time now. Fans are thus getting antsy over the lack of official updates about this alleged new album and have been left wondering as to the real cause of the delay.
Various rumors have indicated that Eminem has not come out with a new album because he is bankrupt or that he is out of ideas. The latest rumor was that his alleged tiff with the Canadian rapper has thrown a wrench in the album-making process.
But Drake fans who were at the rapper's Summer Sixteen Tour event at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit on Tuesday, Aug. 16, were in for quite a surprise when he introduced Eminem to the crowd and called him the "greatest rapper."
"Detroit, make some noise for the greatest rapper that ever get on a mother—ing microphone," Drake said. Eminem later said that he was honored to perform with Drake on the same stage.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eminem's guest appearance at Drake's concert is the latest incident in the ongoing feud between Drake and rapper Joe Budden, who is signed to Eminem's Shady Records and is Eminem's Slaughterhouse bandmate. The bad blood between Drake and Budden began back in April when the latter reacted negatively to Drake's "Views."
Meanwhile, according to the Morning Ledger, Rihanna has previously hinted at another future collaboration with Eminem, which may also include her other frequent collaborator, Drake. With the rumored feud between Eminem and Drake having been proven false at Detroit last week, could the trio possibly be joining forces to work on a collaborative track — or even an album?
Eminem has not announced an official release date for his next major studio album.
