Eminem new album release date rumors latest: Is a 2016 release for 'Roots' still possible?
Since it's been three years since he released an album, fans of Eminem are getting antsy for his next record. But reports about an alleged ninth studio album have been circulating since last year and a possible 2016 release is starting to look bleak as well.
According to the latest rumors, the 12-track album allegedly titled "Roots" may be released before 2017. Since an official confirmation from Eminem has yet to be released, fans of the Grammy-award-winning Detroit rapper have understandably become skeptical.
Is he or is he not working on a new album? Eminem's lips are sealed for comments regarding the matter and his management is also not offering concrete details about it.
But several sources are suggesting that Eminem may indeed be working on a project that could well be a studio album. Although he's currently facing problems that are causing some delays, work on the alleged album is still reportedly on-going.
Back in August, the rapper and producer was reportedly focusing his efforts on other ventures like his business partnership with StockX, the world's first stock market for sneakers.
He was also reportedly in talks for both executive producer and music supervisor roles for an alleged Paramount TV series, and has been actively promoting "Shady Wars," a mobile game developed in partnership with his record label, "Shady Records." The game features some of the Detroit rapper's older songs.
He has also been lending a hand in promoting the music of fellow artists like Yelawolf and Skylar Grey.
Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem is now hailed as one of the world's best-selling artists and snagged the 83rd spot in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, earning him the title "King of Hip Hop." His alleged album, "Roots" reportedly features collaborations with Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg and Jay Z.
