The couple that fell in love while portraying their on-screen characters in "The Amazing Spider-man" still has a lot of love for each other despite their split in 2015.

The Vanity Fair reports that when Emma Stone won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture of a Musical or Comedy for "La La Land," her ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield was seen giving her a standing ovation.

Garfield and Stone first met in 2012 when they geared up to play Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy in Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-man." The couple dated for four years and went on to reprise their roles in the sequel. But Garfield and Stone called in quits in 2015.

According to US Weekly, the couple decided to break the relationship when they realized that things were not working anymore. But Stone and Garfield still kept close with each other despite their split.

Garfield confirmed that he is indeed in good terms with his ex.

"We care about each other so much, and that's a given, that's kind of this unconditional thing. There's so much love between us and so much respect [. . .] I'm her biggest fan as an artist. So for me, it's been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. And it's also been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other. It's nothing but a beautiful thing," Garfield explained.

Previously, Garfield shared during a roundtable interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he would choose Stone to be with him on a deserted island and that he loves her.

But Garfield hasn't been the only one showing affection for his estranged lover to the media. Stone also spoke in the October 2016 issue of Vogue about how he feels for Garfield.

"[He's] someone I still love very much. I'm really glad you're sitting down so I can tell you," Stone jokingly shared.
