'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2' release date, plot news: Sequel's plot leaked on IMDb
The sequel to "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has been confirmed years before it will debut theaters. Subsequently, the plot may have been leaked, and it includes Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) asking for Newt Scamander's (Eddie Redmayne) help.
Directed by David Yates, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" followed the story of a Magizoologist named Newt in his adventures during his visit to New York 70 years before Harry Potter (Daniel Radliffe) came to Hogwarts.
The film just premiered in November of last year, but it appears that the second and third sequels were already given release dates.
According to Cinema Blend, Warner Bros. already announced last October 2014 that "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" will premiere in November 2018, followed by the third film slated for a November 2020 release date.
During an interview with GSNews, Yates shared that J.K. Rowling has already finished the script for the sequel while promoting his other movie, "The Legend of Tarzan."
"We've done the first one, she's written the second one, she's got ideas for the third one. No one quite has ownership of them quite yet, in terms of having a relationship with the material, other than the relationship they'll have with the movie when it comes out," Yates explained.
Although plot details for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" is being kept under wraps, the film's IMDb page may have revealed its plot story. IMDb has already changed the film's plot details on the page, but The Leaky Cauldron was able to get hold of the plot that they posted.
"Newt tries to move on, but Leta (Zoe Kravitz) keeps turning up when he least expects it. After a while, he realises she is only there to tell him about Dumbledore, who needs to defeat Grindelwald (Johnny Depp)," the post read.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2" is set to premiere in November 2018.
