'FIFA 17' release date, updates: EA announces 20 fastest players; soundtrack drops on Spotify

EA has revealed the 20 fastest players in its upcoming "FIFA 17," the next installment in its long-running "FIFA" football video game series.

With a pace rating of 95, Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has emerged as the fastest player from the Premiere League. This comes as a welcome surprise for Bellerin's fans, who were disappointed when the Spanish footballer didn't take the #1 spot last year despite reports that he had topped the speed record in training.

Bellerin's fellow Premiere League stars Raheem Sterling of Manchester City and Ahmed Musa of the Foxes are also on the list.

According to EA Sports, the fastest football players overall are Borussia Dortmund's Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Greuther Fürth midfielder Mathis Bolly. Both Aubameyang and Bolly have a pace rating of 96.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Sept. 8, EA revealed the soundtrack for "FIFA 17," which fans of the game can now listen to on Spotify.

"We've spent nearly a year putting together the best-compiled, best-known, and best-selling mix of international superstars and breakthrough artists in the gaming world today," EA said in its announcement.

The track list contains songs from both major artists (Empire of the Sun, Beck) and new talents (Declan McKenna, Rat Boy). Indie groups Two Door Cinema Club and Bastille contributed new tracks "Are We Ready? (Wreck)" and "Send Them Off!" respectively, while Bishop Briggs and "FIFA" favorite Kasabian debuted new songs "Be Your Love" and "High and Low."

The "FIFA 17" soundtrack also includes "Hobo Rocket" by Barns Courtney, "Vowels" by Capital Cities, "Pleasure" by Formation, "Surprise Yourself" by Jack Garratt, "Same Ol Blues" by Phantogram, "Youth" by Glass Animals, "Postpone" by Catfish And The Bottlemen, and many others.

"FIFA 17" is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in North America and on Thursday, Sept. 29, for the rest of the world.

A demo will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 13, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
