A classic villain will make a comeback in the first story downloadable content (DLC) for "Final Fantasy 15."

Details about the upcoming DLC have been discussed by DLC producer Haruyoshi Sawatari in a special edition book that was given out to selected individuals. According to Sawatari, the upcoming DLC called Episode Gladiolus will feature Noctis' companion Gladio who will have to battle a version of a staple "Final Fantasy" villain named Gilgamesh.

Those who have already played the main game could notice that Gladio suddenly exited from the player party to deal with a personal business. When he comes back, he already has a scar. Gladio's own adventures will be finally revealed in the upcoming DLC. "The player confronts an enemy called Gilgamesh, who can only be seen in Episode Gladio," Sawatari stated in the book as reported by VG24/7.

Gilgamesh is the clumsy sword-collecting thief who first appeared in a different form as a major antagonist in "Final Fantasy 5." He also appeared in other "Final Fantasy" games, including "Final Fantasy 8," "Final Fantasy 9," "Final Fantasy 11," "Final Fantasy 12," and "Final Fantasy 14."

Sawatari also mentioned that the soon-to-be released DLC will bring players to several new areas outside the open world universe of the main game. "In Episode Gladio, you're able to go into areas that cannot be entered in the main game," the DLC producer stated.

He also revealed that the contents for the upcoming Episode Gladiolus DLC will contain exciting items. "We're also planning on content that will truly blow your mind," he stated. However, the DLC producer did not when will the DLC comes out in the market.

The Episode Gladiolus DLC will be included in the "Final Fantasy 15" Season Pass, alongside the other major story expansion contents featuring the adventures of Noctis' companions, including Prompto and Ignis. The Season Pass is already available for $24.99.
