"Final Fantasy" game producer Yoshinori Kitase stated that Square Enix will be sticking with the episodic style of release for the upcoming game, similar to the previous installments of the highly successful game franchise. Particularly, the anticipated episodic release of the "Final Fantasy 7" remake is likened to "Final Fantasy XIII," where each part of the whole game will be a full-scale game of its own. Each portion of the series will have its own narrative told from a different perspective.

As there is no final release date yet for the "Final Fantasy 7" remake, Nomura revealed that Square Enix is preparing for a huge reveal in the coming months.
