"Final Fantasy XV" fans will not have to worry about post-launch downloadable content (DLC) support for the game as Square Enix has pledged to expand it further this year.

In welcoming the new year, game director Hajime Tabata shared a message teasing fans what is in store for the open-world, action role-playing video game, calling 2017 "a year of giving back to everyone for their kindness."

"There are many players enjoying FFXV in various ways, and nothing makes us happier than this," Tabata wrote, thanking fans for the massive support for "Final Fantasy XV."

"To provide a long-lasting and even more enjoyable experience with FFXV for everyone, we will continue to update the game and release DLC. We ask for your continued support for Final Fantasy XV in 2017," he went on to say.

It looks like Tabata was not bluffing when he said that — at least based on the wealth of information from the "Final Fantasy XV" strategy guide called "Ultimania" released recently.

It was discovered that there will be four new characters set to be unlocked from DLCs. The first one is named Iris Amicitia, the 15-year-old sister of Gladiolus that Noctis meets early in the game.

The "Final Fantasy XV" female protagonist Princess Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, better known by her nickname Luna, is also expected to be added via DLC.

Of course, with the good guys come bad ones. Another "Final Fantasy XV" DLC character set to join the fray is Aranea Highwind, who will be one of the baddies that Noctis and company will have to deal with.

A leader of the Third Army Corps 86th Airborne Unit of the Niflheim Empire, the lance-wielding villain is known to be both ruthless yet vigilant, a deadly combination.

Some point out her resemblance to Lightning from "Final Fantasy XIII" although it is unclear how this will come into play as far as the story goes.

Another "Final Fantasy XV" DLC character to expect is Cor Leonis, a warrior hardened by the long years of defending Kingdom of Lucis.
