'Final Fantasy XV' news: Will the game be ported to the PC?

Square Enix recently released footage of how "Final Fantasy XV" would like if it was running on a PC, or at least, how it would look like if it was played using a PC which has the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, a high-end video card. This fueled players' hopes that the game will soon be ported to PC.

"Final Fantasy XV," which was released on Nov. 29, 2016, is currently available exclusively on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which was why the release of the video made a lot of fans believe that a PC version of the game is not far from coming, despite the footage being dubbed the company as a "tech demo." Dual Shockers reported that the PC version of "Final Fantasy XV" is, in fact, running in the publisher's headquarters in Tokyo. However, the report said that playing this would require an "extremely beefy PC," with high-end peripherals. Furthermore, the game is not intended to be released in the market as of yet. The port was developed as an "experiment on visual fidelity," with the game used as the platform by Square Enix for the said test. As such, it does not look like the PC port of this game is readily within reach, at least not within the reach of the average PC player.

Hajime Tabata, a co-director of "Final Fantasy XV" has not made it a secret that he wants to see the game ported to the PC. "I want to show PC users Final Fantasy XV running on high-end machines, and we personally would like to see it too," he said in an interview with Famitsu, which was then translated by Gematsu.

"Episode Gladiolus," the first downloadable content (DLC) of "Final Fantasy XV," is set to roll out on March 28. "Episode Prompto," the next scheduled DLC, will be out in June.

"Final Fantasy XV" is currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
