Rev. Franklin Graham has called for prayers as Saeed Abedini and wife, Naghmeh, deal with marital difficulties.

Earlier this week, The CEO and President of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and of Samaritan's Purse, posted on Facebook page urging followers to pray for the couple after Naghmeh Abedini filed for legal separation

"We now lift [Saeed] and his wife Naghmeh to the Lord for healing in their marriage", the pastor wrote. "God has answered prayer by bringing about Saeed's release from prison, and now, Satan would like nothing more than to continue to destroy their lives."

"It is my prayer that this will not happen," he added.

Following Saeed's release from the notorios Evin prison, he spent several days at the Billy Graham Center in Asheville, North Carolina. It was the location where the family was reunited after being separated for three and a half years.

Saeed Abedini was one of four Americans released in a prisoner swap. The Iranian court sentenced him to eight years prison in 2013. The US government agreed to free seven Iranian prisoners as part of the exchange.

After Abedini made his way home to Boise, Idaho to meet his children, Naghmeh filed for legal separation, citing abuse. Naghmeh also revealed that Saeed was addicted to pornography.

Naghmeh Abedini said she deeply regretted that she hid from the public the abuse she had lived with for most of their marriage. She asked forgiveness from the public and had hoped that the horrible situation Saeed has had to go through would bring about spiritual change needed for both of them and healing to their marriage.

Graham added that other than God, no one knows the truth and the full details of what has happened between the couple except them. The pastor then said that although Christians are now celebrating Saeed's return, people should not cease from praying and that the support should not stop, but continue.
