"Frozen 2," the much-anticipated sequel to the hit Disney movie "Frozen," is happening.

As reported by Telegraph, "Frozen 2" is on the way, but it won't be making its arrival before 2019. The first "Frozen" movie took two years to create, so it makes sense that the film sequel will take as much time. Given that Disney has already mapped out its film release schedules for 2017 and 2018, and a "Frozen" sequel is not included in both years, a 2019 movie release would be the earliest possible schedule for "Frozen 2."

Actresses Kristen Bell (Anna) and Idina Menzel (Elsa) are also confirmed to return for the next "Frozen" film. Disney fans' favorite snowman, Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad), will also be returning for the sequel. Filmmaker Jennifer Lee is also set to return as the director of "Frozen 2."

Although "Frozen 2" won't be released earlier than 2019, the two-year wait may not seem so long, with many "Frozen"-related projects expected to launch in the years to come.

A Broadway musical for "Frozen" has been announced to join other Disney musicals, such as "The Lion King" and "Aladdin," in the spring of 2018. Before its debut, a pre-Broadway engagement is scheduled on Aug. 17, 2017 until Oct. 1, 2017 at the Buell Theatre, Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

Broadway veteran and Tony Award-winner Michael Grandage will be directing the musical. The choreography is under the control of Christopher Gatteli, who is known for his works in the stage productions of "Newsies" and "The King & I."

While fans wait for the arrival of the musical and "Frozen 2," ABC network will also be airing a Christmas special starring Olaf at the end of 2017. "Olaf's Frozen Adventure" is heavily focused on the optimistic snowman, but other "Frozen" characters, such as Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Sven, are all expected to return for it.

The Christmas special will be directed by award-winning animators Kevin Deters and Steven Wermers-Skelton.

If all goes according to plan, fans can expect "Frozen" 2 to premiere sometime in 2019.
