Frozen 2 Release Date News: Frozen Characters Returning To The Big Screen
The "Frozen" fever is set to make another wave as Disney has created a short film based on the hit movie to be released next month.
Aptly named "Frozen Forever," the highly anticipated short flick will hit theaters on March 13, E! Online reported.
The short film will accompany as front act the upcoming live-action movie "Cinderella," another Disney creation that will star Lily James as the protagonist, Cate Blanchett as the cruel stepmother, and Helena Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother.
The plot of "Frozen Forever" is simple: It is about Anna's birthday celebration thrown by Elsa and Kristoff, who are determined to give her the best one ever. Elsa's powers, however, seem to get in the way.
Olaf gets a mouthful of the blue party cake adorned with sunflowers, one teaser picture showed. But it looks like he gobbled a chunk of the multi-tiered cake before it was ready to be served to guests.
Another teaser picture shows Elsa out of her signature blue gown and into a green one while talking to Anna in the latter's pink-walled bedroom.
Directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are set to return, as well as producer Peter Del Vecho and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the duo behind the Academy Award winner song "Let It Go."
However, it is still uncertain if Kristen Bell (Anna), Josh Gad (Olaf), Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) and Idina Menzel (Elsa) will reprise their voice roles, E! Online wrote.
There may also be a chance for a full sequel to the original film, which has earned $1.27 billion worldwide, making it the most successful animated film of all time.
"Ah, yeah sure," Menzel reportedly told The Telegraph, when asked about a follow-up movie. "I don't know what will happen with [the stage show] but the movie, hopefully. We'll see. I'm just going along for the ride."
