Those with very active lifestyles will be pleased with Fujifilm's newest camera — the FinePix XP 120. The rugged point-and-shoot camera is compact and lightweight at just 203 grams and comes with protection features that allow it to function in a wide variety of shooting situations.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP120 offers users four kinds of protection that makes it suitable for any kind of outdoor activity. It is waterproof for depths up to 65 feet, freezeproof up to -10°C, shockproof as it withstands drops from 5.8 feet and dustproof so that sand and other foreign particles do not enter the digital camera. A double-locking mechanism also makes sure that the battery will be safe. Aside from use in sports and other outdoor activities, these protection features also make it an ideal camera for children. The XP120 also comes with a grip design so users can easily hold it with one hand.

In terms of technical specifications, the XP120 features a 16.4-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, a FUJINON 5x optical zoom lens and optical image stabilization. This translates to sharp and accurately colored images regardless of shooting conditions. To frame photos, there is a 3-inch LCD display with a 920K-dot resolution.

The camera comes with a new mode, Cinemagraph, which produces still images with moving elements. This shooting mode allows the photographer to accentuate its subject as it appears frozen in time while its background moves accordingly. For moving subjects, users can utilize Burst mode that captures up to 10 frames per second (fps) and time-lapse shooting, as well as Full HD video recording up to 60 fps.

After fun-filled outings and adventures, users can easily transfer captured images and videos to their smartphone or tablet via the camera's Wi-Fi connectivity. Users can also instantly post content onto their social media accounts. Photos can be printed instantly as well as the camera is compatible with the Instax Share smartphone printer.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP120 will be available for purchase in February for $230.
