'Fuller House' season 3 features original cast members; show creator Jeff Franklin not affected by 2nd season low ratings
All viewers of "Fuller House" can now relax and wait for the third season to arrive. Yes, Netflix has just confirmed that the hit series will have its third season and will come in 2017.
Netflix announced on its social media page the good news to all fans of "Fuller House." The Tweet reads, "Holiday wishes, answered. Fuller House Season 3, coming 2017."
It has already been hinted that "Fuller House" season 3 will be coming since one of the cast members, Candace Cameron Bure, resigned as a co-host in the show "The View" so that she could concentrate on the series. Bure takes on a role of D.J. Tanner-Fuller.
"Fuller House" continues with the cast members of the original "Full House" sitcom of ABC, including Bob Saget who plays Danny Tanner, and all the other iconic characters like Andrea Barber. This is a special treat to all the fans of the original series as they see the former child stars now acting as adults in an all-new show with the same concept.
The news about "Fuller House" season 3 was met with doubts as its second season was previously reported to have low ratings. In a report by Symphony AM, the viewership of the show went down to a tremendous 67 percent from the first season.
The first season came as the highest-rated show on Netflix, so the flank of rating of the second season came as a shock to many. According to the research company, 9 percent of the viewers who tuned-in to watch the first season premiere episode did not go back to watch the second season premiere.
However, show creator Jeff Franklin kept an open mind and said that he does not believe the independent research numbers. In an interview with Business Insider, he said: "If these independent research numbers are to be believed, and there's no reason for me not to believe them, it's not only the No. 1 show on Netflix, but it's the most-watched show on television."
Netflix has yet to comment about the news.
