When Paul Walker died while filming "Furious 7," it appeared that the film would never be completed. Proving the doubters wrong, the movie will hit screens this Friday, April 3.

The latest Vin Diesel-Paul Walker starrer is expected to bring renewed enthusiasm for the Fast and Furious franchise.

The reviews for the film have started pouring, with most of them paying tribute to Walker.

In its review, Variety described the film as a "solid seventh entry in the film franchise that does Walker proud."

The seventh film in the franchise was ably handled by the new director, James Wan, who took over from Justin Lin, who directed the previous three films. The film is expected to earn $2.3 billion at the box office.

The plot of the film focuses on the aftermath of the previous film where Owen Shaw, played by Luke Evans, was the bad guy with a tank.

Now it is the turn of his elder brother Deckard, played by Jason Statham, to seek revenge for Shaw who he finds barely alive in hospital where he "put him out of his misery."

As for Walker's exit from the franchise, it was handled in good taste, according to Variety. There were echoes of the way Walker died as Han (Sung Kang) is shown being burnt in a car by Deckard.

In its review, IGN said "Furious 7," just like the other films in the franchise, manages to hit the right notes and satisfies fans while also allowing Walker to shine in his final performance.

Forbes said it is unlikely that "Furious 7" will be the last film in the lucrative franchise. It said the movie provided a good ending to Walker's story by having him retire with grace at the end.

Also paying tribute to the late actor, the Telegraph review said the movie "does justice to Paul Walker."
