The Samsung Galaxy A7 and the Moto X (2014) are devices that have a nice mixture of top-of-the-line specs and great design. But when compared to each other, the device from Samsung manages to sprint ahead.
Design
The Moto X has a sturdy metal frame and a glass front panel with slight curve, and its back panel can be customized with plastic, leather, wood or bamboo on the Moto Maker website. As for the Galaxy A7, it comes with a premium full metal body and is very slim, measuring just 6.3mm, making it even thinner and lighter than the iPhone 6.
Display
In terms of display, the Galaxy A7 has a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401pixels per inch, while the Moto X has an AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 424 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Galaxy A7 was released in two versions, and the dual SIM version has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset coupled with quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. While the single SIM version has a Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz CPU. As for the Moto X it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
While the Moto X does not have a memory slot, the Galaxy A7 has one that can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB. As for RAM both devices come with 2 GB.
Camera
Both devices have rear cameras with 13 megapixels. In front, the Galaxy A7 has a 5 megapixel version while the Moto X has a 2 megapixel version.
Price
While the price of the Galaxy A7 has not been announced yet, it is expected to cost as much as it does in Russia which translates to $488. As for the Moto X, it is priced at $546 without a contract.
