Galaxy Note 3 vs Droid Turbo Comparison: Specs, Price and Features Review - Motorola Phone Lacks Design But Has Better Processor, Battery
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the predecessor to the Note 4, has great specs and the traditional design seen on the Note range. On the other hand, the Droid Turbo from Motorola has a better processor and battery but is sorely lacking in design.
Design
The Note 3 isn't a stand-out design-wise, but its plastic frame and faux leather back give it a good enough look. It can also be held comfortably in one hand. As for the Droid Turbo, it also has a plastic frame, but it has metal edges which also works as its antenna. The back panel on the Droid Turbo features unique materials and comes with either Kevlar or ballistic nylon, which does nothing to improve the overall look of the device. A major difference between the devices is that the Note 3 has a S Pen stylus which its competitor does not have.
Display
The Droid Turbo has a smaller super AMOLED screen measuring 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 565 pixels per inch. The Note 3 has a 5.7-inch super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch.
Platform
Both devices run the Android operating system which can be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The Droid Turbo has a better Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, coupled with a Quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. The Note 3 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, coupled with a Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
Memory
The Droid Turbo and the Note 3 have 3 GB of RAM. When it comes to memory slots, the Droid Turbo lacks this feature while the Note 3 has it which can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB.
Price
The Note 3 is priced at $149 with a two-year contract while the Droid Turbo costs $199 with a similar contract.
