The Galaxy S5 Mini and the HTC Desire 826 are built like budget smartphones and provide great bang for the buck even though one device is much bigger than the other.
Design
The design of the Galaxy S5 Mini is inspired by that of the Galaxy S5. It comes with a plastic frame and back panel. Additionally, its back panel has a soft touch coating that is lined with dimples. The plastic frame of the device ensures that it is 60 grams lighter when compared to the bigger HTC Desire 826. As for the HTC Desire 826, it also has a plastic frame. Its back panel is made from the same material with a glossy finish. Around its edges is a band made of rubber.
Display
The HTC Desire 826 comes with a super LCD3 screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401pixels per inch. The Galaxy S5 Mini has a smaller super AMOLED screen measuring 4.5 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 326 pixels per inch.
Specs
Inside the Galaxy S5 Mini, which was released in 2014, is an Exynos 3 Quad 3470 chipset, coupled with a quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A7 CPU and Mali-400MP4 GPU. The HTC Desire 826, which was released early this year, comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with a quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU.
Memory
Both devices come with memory slots. The slot on the Galaxy S5 Mini supports up to 64 GB of external storage while the one on the HTC Desire 826 supports up to 128 GB. In terms of RAM, the Galaxy S5 Mini has 1.5 GB and the HTC Desire 826 has 2 GB.
