Galaxy S6 vs Galaxy Note 4 Specs, Price Review: Features Comparison - Premium Metal and Glass Phone Takes On Bigger Sibling

Samsung seemed determined to avoid any sibling rivalry between its older Galaxy Note 4 phablet and its new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6. After all, the two devices both have outstanding features. The Galaxy S6 boasts of a great design while the Note 4 has a major advantage for having a memory slot.

Design

Design is where the Galaxy S6 comes ahead of its sibling as it has a premium metal frame encased in Gorilla Glass 4 on its front and back panel. As for the Galaxy Note 4, it has a metal frame but the rest is plastic and its back panel has a faux leather finish which allows for easy handling.

Display

The Galaxy Note 4 has a bigger Super AMOLED display measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 515 pixels per inch. The Galaxy S6 has a smaller 5.1 inch Super AMOLED screen with the same resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. As such, it has a better density of 577 pixels per inch.

Specs

The Exynos 7420 chipset on the Galaxy S6 is coupled with a CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz and a Mali-T760 GPU. This configuration gives it a significant advantage over the Galaxy Note 4 which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and an Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

There is significant difference between the devices in terms of memory slots as the Galaxy S6 does not have one while the Galaxy Note 4 has it. This allows for the addition of up to 128GB of external storage. When it comes to RAM both devices have similar 3 GB versions.

Camera

Both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 4 have similar 16-megapixel cameras at their rear. Their cameras also have the same features, including optical image stabilization.

Price

The Galaxy Note 4 costs $299 with a two-year contract and $825 at full retail while the full retail price of the Galaxy S6 is expected to be around $699.
