As fans eagerly await the Season 5 premiere of "Game of Thrones" on April 12 this year, a lot of talk is going around about exactly what could be expected this season and even beyond.

Confirmed earlier was the report that the whole story arc of Bran Stark, Hodor and Meera, who were traveling together, will not be included in Season 5. The reason for this seems to be that Season 4 already exhausted the story of Bran and his group, and the rest of the characters needed to catch up in Season 5.

While there are a lot of disappointed fans, the actor who plays Bran, Isaac Hempstead-Wright, himself is actually relieved. He stated that because of this, he was able to attend school and take important exams during the time that Season 5 was filming, which he had not been able to do in previous years. What is good about the prospects of Bran is that he hasn't been killed off yet, so he will definitely be back in future seasons, and that his absence in Season 5 is just a welcome rest for him.

George R. R. Martin has been quoted as saying that Season 5 will continue to have deaths that will surprise people who have read the books. This actually hints that part of the storyline of the TV series will not be based anymore on the five books that have already been published.

Season 5 is the last season that is based on an actual book in the series. R. R. Martin has not yet finished writing the last two books of the set. This means that the next season of "Game of Thrones" will not be based on any existing books anymore, and anything can happen.

Speaking of deaths, let's look back at the surprising and notable deaths of the last season. The Red Wedding – where Rob Stark, his wife, his unborn child, his mother Catelyn Stark and others were brutally murdered – remains to be the most surprising (at least to non-readers of the books) episode of the series. People's reactions had been incredulous, as Rob and Catelyn were seen as key players in the story. But that could have been said for Ned Stark as well in the first season. Joffrey's death at his own wedding brought a lot of people cheering. Tywin Lannister's death was heavy, while Lysa Arryn's death was deftly executed.

The question in everyone's mind is, who will die next in Season 5? As R.R. Martin has shown in the past, no character is safe.
