'Game of Thrones' season 7 casting news, updates: Stark siblings appeared in brief HBO teaser; Connor McGregor to join series

HBO

The Stark children were featured in the latest trailer for HBO's programming lineup for 2017, which could mean that the family's return to power in the North will play a major part in "Game of Thrones" season 7.

Toward the end of season 6, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) managed to regain control of Winterfell after defeating Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) with the help of her brother Jon Snow (Kit Harrington).

But trouble seemed to be brewing within the House of Stark, especially after Petyr Baelish (Aiden Gillen) implied that Jon Snow has no right to sit on the throne since he is just a bastard.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Turner hinted that there could be some disagreement between the Stark siblings in the upcoming season. "I think she probably would like to be Queen of the North on her own, or again she probably just wants Jon to listen to her; if Jon had listened to her in the beginning then she would be very happy collaborating with him, so it's just a bit frustrating," the actress stated.

Will this mean that the Starks will fight among themselves to sit on the throne that was once led by their father Ned Stark (Sean Bean)?

Meanwhile, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) is also seen riding at the back of a horse through a snowy terrain in the trailer. This could mean that Arya is on her way back to Winterfell to reunite with her siblings.

In another news, fans of the TV adaptation of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels could possibly see Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) mix martial arts fighter Conor McGregor in one of the show's future episodes.

Metro UK spotted a report from The Sunday Life, where a source reportedly broke the news about McGregor's possible appearance in the epic TV series.

"It's been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of Game of Thrones," the source stated. "He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the Game of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show."

HBO has yet to confirm the reports as well as the premiere date of "Game of Thrones" season 7 in the coming days.
