'Game of Thrones' season 7 release date, news: Sophie Turner talks about what Sansa is thinking
When the Battle of the Bastards ended, it was clear that Sansa (Sophie Turner) held a lot of power. Let's face it, there was no way Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and his ragtag band of Northerners and Wildings would have won against the Bolton army if Sansa had not asked Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) to send the Knights of the Vale. After the battle, Jon was proclaimed the King in the North by the northern lords while Sansa's contributions were taken for granted. Will she take this lightly? Apparently not.
In an interview with Vulture, Turner shared some details about what's going on inside Sansa's head, and it looks like there might be a power struggle of sorts in the North next season.
"At the end of the season, Sansa gets a taste of power — and it's the first time that she's had that ever, really. She feels like it's deserved because she did so much for Jon and the North, so when she saves the day and doesn't get any recognition for it, it was like she had that first taste of power and then was immediately stripped of it."
Turner said that Sansa felt that she's not getting the respect she deserves because of the patriarchy system in Westeros where men get to make all the decisions while women tend to sit idly by. Sansa might be a frightened girl when everything started, but she has grown to become a strong and confident woman.
Turner also revealed that Sansa was starting to think that maybe Littlefinger was right after all. Last season, Littlefinger told Sansa that he imagined himself sitting on the Iron Throne with Sansa by his side. Turner said that Sansa was now thinking that the picture he painted might not be so bad after all.
Will Sansa do something and grab power in the North? Fans will have to wait until spring 2017 to find out.
