'Gears of War 4' update: over 280 cards ready to collect, plus new characters and weapon skin
There will be more reasons for players of "Gears of War 4" to bask in the game this year as The Coalition announced that the new update will bring more than 280 new cards to collect, plus two classic maps that will make a comeback.
The Series 2 cards of "Gears of War 4" can be used by the players for the multiplayer mode. The cards also include new weapon skins and new characters who will be the first batch of Legacy Characters. These include Sam and Armored Anya in their new skins, WCCF Tech cited. Popular Zombie Minh from the original "Gears of War" is also coming.
The Series 2 cards can be owned by using cash or in-game currency in the "Gears of War 4" standard pack. Those who own the title's Season Pass will be getting a new Airdrop on Jan. 12, alongside the Bounty Gear Pack released every Friday.
The Coalition community manager Liam Ashley also announced what the update will bring. He said, "Since launch, our team has continued to work hard on new features to improve the Gears of War 4 online experience."
"Alongside the release of Series 2, Title Update 3 brings the first phase of a hotly requested community feature — quit penalties. Our new matchmaking timeout system punishes leaving the fight early, while our Join In Progress feature gives you the flexibility to rejoin the battle for a short time — if, say, your dog tripped the power cable. It happens," he added.
He further revealed that the update gives several improvements to the "Gears of War 4's" Spectator Mode, in which added features will give more details of the eSports playing live.
The maps are available today for those who have the Season Pass. Everyone else can access the maps on Jan. 17. The classic maps are "Clocktower" and "Blood Drive," which were featured in "Gears of War 2" and "Gears of War 3."
