Days after that fateful morning when pop icon George Michael was found dead on his bed, partner Fadi Fawaz is speaking up on the events leading to his discovery on the Christmas he "will never forget."

The celebrity stylist with whom Michael spent his recent years told The Telegraph UK that they were both excited about the Holidays this year. Little did he know that it will turn out so drastically different from what they have hoped for.

"We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went around there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed," Fawaz spilled. "Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was," he went on to say.

The singer's cause of death has yet to be determined as the cause of it is said to not be immediately apparent. However, the Oxfordshire Coroner's Office reveals that initially there seems to be nothing suspicious in the manner of how Michael died. It is no secret that the chart-topping musician struggled with substance abuse in the 90s capped with run-ins with the law. But he was able to get out of the rut, at least from the public's perspective, again and again.

A recent report from Daily Mail Online, however, reveals that Michael actually battled lung problems for a couple of years now since getting pneumonia a few years back. The near-fatal infection commenced during his European tour in 2011, which got worse prompting him to be taken to Austria for a tracheotomy to keep his airways open. Michael was very open about his health scare even admitting that it really did almost killed him.

Now, a source claims that due to the severity of that situation, the singer's lungs were never able to recuperate. "His lungs never fully recovered. That can happen after a serious bout of pneumonia like George had. It leaves the lung scarred or damaged, which can lead to a loss of function. Part of the lung basically doesn't work anymore," the tipster expounded. "George made no secret about how much he smoked. Smoking can seriously affect the lungs and dramatically increases the risk of infection," he added.

The funeral arrangement for Michael has yet to be disclosed publicly. Nevertheless, fans are flocking to his English estate to bring flowers and light candles for the 80s musician.
