'Gilmore Girls' spoilers, plot news: Lauren Graham talks series' future after 'A Year in the Life'
Lauren Graham, who is set to reprise her role as Lorelai Gilmore on the Netflix revival series, "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," gushes about her being a part of the project.
"It was my most favorite thing I've ever done," she told E! News.
The actress went on to say that she felt very thankful and lucky to get to be a part of the series' revival, something she believed was not an easy chance to come by in life. She also commended the way the story has been done, saying she loves it and never gets fed up going over it.
As for the growing interest and eagerness of fans to see the upcoming revival, Graham told People, "I feel the excitement."
The "Parenthood" actress added that she had felt that when they were filming the episodes and she had never before come across the same feeling of wonder and intensity. Even after she had gone on to make other shows, Graham confessed that she missed being Lorelai.
She even shared that the creative juices of the series creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, had flowed upon a spark of inspiration taken from another series' episodic structure. She said that Benedict Cumberbatch's and Martin Freeman's "Sherlock" had no set structure or number of episodes but rather took cue from the story and went on from there, so that there are times when only three episodes are made, but in others, there is just one.
As to whether there is going to be more after the revival, "Gilmore Gils: A Year in the Life," Graham explained, "There is no plan to do anything else, but she just made this up, Amy, the creator of the show because she liked Sherlock ..."
"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" will have four episodes, each representing a different season in the year in the lives of Lorelai, Rory (Alexis Bledel), and Emily Gilmore (Kelly Bishop). Stars from the original run of the show will also be joining Graham, including Melissa McCarthy, Jared Padalecki, Scott Patterson, Matt Czuchry, and Milo Ventimiglia.
There is no definite date for "Gilmore Gils: A Year in the Life" premiere on Netflix, but it is said to be sometime later in the year.
