'God Of War III Remastered' Release Date, News: Sony Offers Pre-Order Bonuses
Sony has announced that customers who pre-order "God of War III Remastered" on the PlayStation Store Sony will get free 90-day rentals of the first two games in the series via its streaming network access as well as a dynamic theme.
"God of War III Remastered" is due to launch on July 14 this year. The Sony announcement came with a 10-minute gameplay video for the game.
In its special offer, Sony said the two rent-free games will become available on May 26 along with the free "God of War – Fall of Olympus" theme for people in North America on PlayStation Now.
With this offer, Sony wants gamers who did not get to experience the first two games in the franchise – "God of War" and "God of War II" – to have a taste of them before the remastered version is launched.
Those who pre-order "God of War III Remastered" via a retail outlet will only get the theme when the game is launched in July.
As of now, gamers' attention is on the gameplay trailer for "God of War III Remastered." It features cutting edge textures and runs at 60fps with a resolution of 1080p.
In the trailer, Kratos and Hades are seen facing off against each other as more details about the origins of their discord are revealed. The two seemed hell bent on using violence to settle their issues.
"God of War III Remastered" is priced at $40 and will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
Sony is hoping that its pre-order bonuses will attract more customers. However, other gaming websites have been quick to point out that packs such as the "God of War Saga," which is priced at just $20, offers a larger number of games from the franchise for the PlayStation 3 and as such offers a better deal.
