With the recent announcement of the new mobile operating system from Google, the Android N or Android Nougat, fans are starting to wonder as to which device it will debut on. There are speculations saying that Google has already tapped HTC to develop the all new Nexus 2016.

Although this report has yet to be confirmed by either Google or HTC, rumors are circulating suggesting that the Taiwanese smartphone maker will develop two variants of Nexus 2016 – the HTC Marlin and HTC Sailfish.

In a new report by The BitBag, both Nexus 2016 models will be launched in August; however, nothing has been set in stone yet. Fans will have to wait for the company to officially announce the development of the handset before making any assumptions.

As of the moment, Google has also not confirmed the release date of its newest operating system. Many fans believe that the American internet search company will make a big announcement anytime soon.

Meanwhile, despite the lack of concrete details from Google, speculations about the new Nexus' specs and rumors have already hit the rumor mill.

According to some rumors, the device will run on the latest Quad-core Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, which will be paired with 4 GB of RAM. There are reports circulating that both HTC Marlin and HTC Sailfish will share almost the same specs under the hood. However, both smartphone will completely differ on screen size and designs.

The upcoming Google HTC Marlin will carry a huge screen at 5.5-inch with 2K AMOLED display, while the Nexus Sailfish will get a smaller screen at 5-inch with 1080p display. Both handsets are also rumored to arrive with pre-installed Android Nougat.

Other features of the device include 12 MP rear snapper, an 8 MP front-facing camera, a 3450 mAh battery for the Nexus Marlin and a 2770 mAh battery for the Nexus Sailfish.

As of now, fans are still waiting for Google to make an official statement. Until then, all rumors and speculations must be taken with a grain of salt.
