Google Nexus 2016 release date rumors and news: HTC Marlin, HTC Sailfish to arrive with Android 7.1 Nougat?

Google Nexus fans are now anticipating the upcoming release of HTC Marlin and HTC Sailfish. Although Google and HTC have continued to stay mum with regard to the heavy rumors circulating on the Internet these days, many fans believe that it is only a matter of time before the both companies make the devices official. According to the latest reports, Google Nexus 2016 will be revealed late next month or early October. Both HTC Marlin and HTC Sailfish are expected to be shipped with preinstalled Android 7.1 Nougat.

Apparently, the rumor started when an application developer shared interesting data suggesting that there are currently 100 Android users running on Android 7.1 Nougat. It's definitely an interesting report considering that Google has yet to completely roll out the 7.0 version of the operating system. If rumors prove to be true, the new version of Google's latest OS will debut on the two Nexus handsets.

As of the moment, Google has yet to provide any official statement with regard to the latest rumor.

Despite the lack of official details regarding the development of Google Nexus 2016, several reports have surfaced online revealing its price as well as its impressive specs and features. According to Nexusblog, the upcoming 32 GB Nexus Marlin will arrive in the market with a $599 price tag, while the 32 GB variant of Nexus Sailfish will come out with a price of $449.

Meanwhile, both devices are expected to run on a Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm paired with 4 GB of RAM. The device will also come with a 13 MP primary camera along with an 8 MP front-facing snapper.

The two Nexus devices are expected to carry almost the same specs under the hood. However, both will have different exterior designs as the Marlin is expected to be bigger than the Sailfish.
