Google Nexus 7 tablet release date, specs rumors: To sport NVIDIA processor, VR platform; Coming November?

Aside from the new Nexus smartphones, Google is also rumored to reveal the new batch of Nexus tablets this year. If the rumors are anything to go by, the Google Nexus 7 tablet will make an appearance towards the end of the year, possibly sporting NVIDIA's latest chipset technology.

PC Tablet reported that the Google Nexus 7 tablet will be released on Nov. 24. The unveiling of the new Nexus tablets is said to roll out just days or a few weeks after the release of Google Nexus 2016 smartphones. Specifically, the Nexus smartphone variants codenamed as Marlin and Sailfish are expected to be released this year. As the Google Nexus smartphones are said to introduce Google's latest operating system (OS), the Google Nexus 7 is also expected to be among the first devices to be shipped in the markets worldwide with Android 7.0 Nougat.

The upcoming Nexus tablet is expected to boast huge improvements over its predecessor. Game N Guide reported that the Google Nexus 7 will have a huge expandable storage option accompanied by a powerful NVIDIA processor. Specifically, The Bit Bag reported that the device will sport will sport a NVidia Tegra X1 processor with 2TB worth of expandable storage option. Google Nexus 7 is also rumored to have a 4GB RAM, Snapdragon 820 processor and an expandable internal storage capacity amounting to 128GB.

Perhaps one of the most interesting twists in Google Nexus 7 tablet is the new Virtual Reality Platform Daydream, which if turns out correct, will make the tablet as the first to boast this feature for a more exciting graphics experience. It is also expected to have new folder looks, new emojis, a night mode option, launcher shortcuts, enhanced Doze app, multi-windows support and remote bug reports facility.

Mobile & Apps reported that the Google Nexus 7 tablet will cost around $260 USD. However, it should be noted that Google has yet to disclose official information regarding their next Nexus tablet.
