Google Nexus release date news: Google's tablet to launch in 2017
Despite the fact that Google just recently launched two of its flagship phones, the Pixel and the Pixel XL earlier this year, tech lovers still seem to want the next big thing — the Google Nexus 7. New reports indicate that Google loyalists may see the tablet sooner than they think as there are rumors that the Google Nexus 7 could be released in the early months of 2017.
According to a report by Gig Jets, the Google Nexus 7 is rumored be launched right when 2017 begins. Though it still is uncertain whether Google will fit the tablet's brand to Pixel, much like it did with the Pixel smartphones, a few speculate that the gadget could keep its Nexus 7 name. After all, most of Google's consumers are more familiar with the Nexus brand compared to Pixel. With solid branding, Google may be able to save up on advertising and market the tablet much better than if it were to go with the Pixel name.
Meanwhile, rumor has it that the upcoming Google Nexus 7 may feature great new specs including a 5,100-mAH battery, RAM memory space at 4 GB, internal storage space at 64 GB, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip and an Adreno 530 GPU, plus an AMOLED display. The Google Nexus 7 is also speculated to bring with it a main camera capturing photos at 13 MP.
9 to 5 Google also reports that Google is preparing its newest operating system, the Andromeda or the hybrid Chrome OS, for its upcoming Huawei Nexus tablet and its very own convertible laptop.
Though the tech mogul hasn't confirmed yet whether the alleged Huawei Andromeda tablet would be branded under Nexus, sources seem inclined to believe so.
Will the Nexus brand still move on in the future, or is it bound to be overshadowed by the Google Pixel and Pixel XL? Only time will tell.
No official release date has been confirmed but speculators expect the Google Nexus 7 to arrive sometime in early 2017.
