Gospel musician tricked by 'witch doctors' after seeking special powers from them
A popular Gospel musician reportedly sought special powers from 'witch doctors' in order to gain riches.
Clive Barangiro, who rose to fame with his unique and powerful voice, was duped by three self-professing 'witch doctors'.
According to a report by Zimeye, the three wannabes were arrested after they duped the singer a total of $2,150 in alleged fees.
Last month, the three 'witch doctors', Elison Kapako, Learnmore Maisiri, and Ashley Marunya posted an advertisement claiming that they can make people rich.
Barangiro became interested and traveled to the suburb of Mbare in Zimbabwe, to begin the consultations with the three culprits. The three told him that the ancestors require him to give a 'seed' offering of $3,000.
The singer initially returned with $1,500, and was led to a cemetery. While he was standing on the graves, Barangiro allegedly heard someone who told him to place the money on top of a grave.
The voice also told him to bring the remaining $1,500, and go away for a while. He was instructed to bring sand and some liquid to anoint the tombstone.
However, Kapako remained in the cemetery, and allegedly took the money Barangiro had placed on top of the grave.
When the victim returned to supposedly anoint the tombstone with liquid and sand, he noticed that the money disappeared. Kapako told him it turned to stone. In addition, the 'witch doctor' also asked him for an additional $350 because the ancestor reportedly needed to buy goats.
It was at this stage the Gospel singer suspected that he was being duped. He contacted the authorities to arrest Kapako and his accomplices.
Clive Barangiro is well known for his Pentecostal album entitled "Revival."
