'Gotham' season 3 spoilers: Harley Quinn to come to Gotham City?
Margot Robbie's famous DC character Harley Quinn may soon come out on TV, according to "Gotham" executive producer John Stephens.
In an interview with TV Guide, the executive producer claimed that the forerunner of the fan-favorite female villain could soon be introduced in FOX's adaptation of the DC Comics' "Batman" franchise.
"We might see [her] in Episode 22," Stephens stated in the interview.
The revelation came after reports confirmed that Cameron Monaghan's character, Jerome Valeska, will return to the city. Jerome is believed to be the precursor of Batman's greatest nemesis, The Joker.
A report from Independent UK revealed that several fans were thinking that Quinn may not be a new character in the series. Instead, she will be introduced as the new identity of James Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) ex-fiancée Barbara Kean (Erin Richards).
The character is known for losing her sanity and was sent to the Arkham Asylum after she was forced to murder her own parents. She and Jerome could have met each other in the asylum during their stay in the institution.
Meanwhile, The Futon Critic released the synopsis for the upcoming episode of "Gotham" season 3 titled "Mad City: Smile Like You Mean It." The synopsis reads: "On the run from Gordon and Bullock (Donal Logue), Dwight (guest star David Dastmalchian) tries to revive Jerome and, in turn, activates his acolytes around Gotham City. Meanwhile, Selina's (Camren Bicondova) mom's (guest star Ivana Milicevic) intentions in Gotham are revealed, and the power play between Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) escalates as Barbara's plans are set in place."
Fans should also expect to see a preview of Batman and The Joker's long-running feud when "Gotham" returns for the second half of season 3. In a report from Screener TV, Stephens revealed that the two will have a big encounter in the upcoming episodes.
"Gotham" season 3 will be back on FOX on Monday, Jan. 23.
