'Grand Theft Auto VI' release date and updates: Developers focusing more on 'Red Dead Redemption 2?'
Fans rejoiced when Rockstar Games announced that they are already working on "Red Dead Redemption 2," ("RDR 2") but some have been waiting for announcements on "Grand Theft Auto VI" ("GTA VI"). It looks like the game will take a while to be released as Rockstar will be working on "Red Dead" sequel among other things.
Rockstar has announced that "RDR 2" may find its way to gamers come fall of 2017, and fans speculate that work on the game will lead to the delay of "GTA VI." What's more, the company is being sued by former president Leslie Benzies for royalty payments, so Rockstar has quite the juggling act to perform.
With that in mind, "GTA" fans still have a lot to play around with in "GTA Online" which Rockstar is still actively updating with expansions and downloadable content (DLC). Just recently, the developers have given gamers the "Bikers" DLC and rumors suggest that they have expansions planned all the way up to the year 2020.
Other reports suggest that Rockstar may announce development on "GTA VI" come next year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). If an announcement of the game was to be made then, fans can expect "GTA VI" to come out sometime between 2018 and 2020.
The "GTA Online" community is actually still pretty lively. It's still making money for Rockstar Games, so as of now, a sequel doesn't look like it is their top priority. The fans themselves have also been clamoring for the "Red Dead Redemption" sequel for a while. The game was released back in 2010. It would have been seven years since the first game by the time "RDR 2" makes it to the market.
Rockstar Games hasn't made any official announcements for "Grand Theft Auto VI" yet, but fans are already holding out for the E3 2017 to get more updates on the game.
