Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will be refusing to come back to Grey Sloan even when Webber (James Pickens Jr.) tells her to do so. Meanwhile, the show will be including a new doctor into the mix who might possibly be Jo's (Camilla Luddington) husband.

On the next episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 13, titled "Back Where You Belong," Alex (Justin Chambers) will finally be coming home to Grey Sloan. But aside from Meredith being gone, he will find out that things at the hospital are not the same.

"Alex returns to the hospital and discovers a lot has changed since he left. Meanwhile, Jo has to make a difficult decision on a case, and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) tries to distance herself from Eliza (Marika Dominczyk)," the synopsis posted on The Futon Critic reads.

Unlike Alex, Meredith will not be coming back to Grey Sloan just yet, even with Webber approaching her and telling her to get her job back.

As seen from the episode 14 promo, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) makes a visit to Dr. Grey, but at the end of the clip, the Bailey tells Meredith, "There's a difference between loyalty and stubbornness," indicating that the former Head of Surgery at Grey Sloan won't be coming back.

Meanwhile, "Grey's Anatomy" is recruiting an actor to play a new doctor who is described as "appealing, charismatic, and charming," Ausiello reports on TVLine.

But behind the new doctor's good looks and charm, he is also known to have a "manipulative, scary dark side." This new doctor is set to appear before "Grey's Anatomy" season 13 ends, and he is anticipated to return for a new season.

Because of the new doctor's description, there are speculations that this might be Jo's abusive husband, based on how Jo described him in previous episodes. If it is Jo's husband, she and Alex will have a lot more to fix other than their relationship that was put on hold due to the DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) incident.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 airs every Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
