'Grey's Anatomy' season 13 spoilers news: Who will end up hurt as the Meredith-Nathan-Maggie love triangle develops?
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will not air until later this year. However, after the emotions-riddled season 12, fans of the medical drama series are already curious about what unfolds next for the show and what the upcoming season has in store for their favorite characters.
Speculations about what to expect in the next season are making rounds on the web. For one, season 13 is rumored to delve into a potential romance triangle among Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Nathan (Martin Henderson) and Maggie (Kelly McCreary).
In season 13 fans will find out if Nathan will be a reason for the relationship between half-sisters Meredith and Maggie to go acrimonious.
It can be recalled that season 12 of "Grey's Anatomy" witnessed some flirty and romantic moments between Meredith and Nathan, although the former may have seemed to be hesitant at welcoming her budding affair with the latter. Yet clearly, flashes of sparks and good chemistry were brewing between the two characters, which were especially noticeable during a particular instance in Owen and Amelia's wedding.
Amid the wedding ceremony, Nathan even sent Meredith a sweet suggestive smile. Coincidentally, that same moment was when Maggie confessed to Meredith that the former likes Nathan and even revealed that she believed that Nathan shared the same feelings toward her.
Maggie professed: "I really like him. I think he likes me." She even thought that Nathan was smiling at her when the gesture was in fact intended for her sister instead. This surprising admission from Maggie will lead to complications in the 13th season especially when it came just in time with the ongoing latent friction and tension between Meredith and Nathan after the recent developments in their affair.
During an interview with The Entertainment Weekly, McCreary said that her character Maggie will be "devastated" and "really, really sad" once she learns the truth between her sister and her object of affection especially considering that her liking Nathan has been "very genuine."
Meanwhile, Pompeo thinks that her character's affair with Nathan is a secret that Meredith has to keep and will be a good angle to play in the story arc.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 13 will return on ABC this coming fall.
